This is more shodan level than 2 kyu
Would never work! Why: Well he is not really in control of uke he is losing him.
Why wouldn't it work? This move has been used for hundreds of years. Fiore did this one handed with the neck as second fix point.
@@MultiFreak107 firstly no idea who fiore is? Second if you take the neck in Aikido this becomes irimi nage not ikkyo! Why the ikkyo will not work the way he is doing (second way that is) is: He has no control on the over guys body he’s still up right meaning if he just leaves his arm there it will just go behind is body! Which leaves him in a very strong place for a counter!
@@MrSamurai137 Fiore dei Liberi was a 14th century italian fencing master. This is the first grappling move he desribed in his treatise. Ikkyo is an elbow lock. If uke tries to not move his arm will break. There is no option to keep on standing. This technique doesn't become iriminage by holding uke at his neck. In iriminage the lock goes diagonally across the entirety of the body. The hold is used to guide uke around.
@@MultiFreak107 I did aikido for 14 years trust me it will not break! I got the a 3nd dan. I’m talking about the ikkyo aru and if you take the neck on an ikkyo aru then you will turn it in the an irimi nage as you will hold uke neck and wrist or elbow! As you do an irimi then tenkan. Now you do not need to throw uke back wards you can just face plant him it’s still irimi nage! The form is teaching 2 throws. As for the arm breaking no ikkyo is an arm manipulation that controls the head and the body to the floor!
@@MrSamurai137 I have 6 years of Aikido, but also 15 years as an engineer. The elbow can only rotate in two directions and the third rotation is forced here. Do you doubt the technique or the application? I also studied fencing for around 18 years including the saber, which has been used by Morihei Ueshiba in the form of the Kyu Gunto. With knowledge about distance and timing these technique become actually very effective.
Поддавки, не рабочая техника.
Не работает такая техника.
Out of the many various Kyu tests I've seen on UA-cam this is the best by far!! Great job!
i'm very impressed by this 5th kyu student!! kudos both to him and the master!!
How is this an anatomical analysis?
There's a tiny bug in the video
you must be very stypid if you think that this bullshit technics work in a streets

"Don't push, don't lose opponent movement"... Priceless
"No fighting, no fighting, no fighting". Remember that folks. It's the answer to all the questions.
Nice!!!
Amazing way to teach sensei, i can understand crearly a lot of things.
I love the simplicity of your teaching... Its easy to learn from you guy. Keep it up
How is Obata-sensei? I had a short training by him 20 years ago.
Obata San had retired and back to Japan in 2019. We are keeping contacts though and have welcomed him for a seminar the last September here in JCCC, Toronto
Cool technics have been shown. Keep it up.
Which applicant did you like more?
The first one acts really tough, as in real combat. His uke must be very experienced to survive. The second one is quite relaxed and keeps a perfect distance.
Good nice

Thank you for explaining how performing Ikkyo ; It's so beautibul and interesting when showed by a big master. (Irimi and atemi,...)
Großartiger Lehrer!
Great, this explanation of the principles of body mechanics. Thanks!
Perfekt, um diese Techniken zu verstehen!
aikido develop self control not idiot agresive response to conflict almost a religios ,spiritual training
Isn't this henka waza?
Actually, both, Kaeshi Waza (switching roles) and Henka Waza (switching technic by the same nage) were represented in the video.
, thank you
Great video. Thank you.
no boken- djo waza?
Это большая ошибка ходить самому вокруг уке , который почему то в момент нашего хождения бездействует )) Нет у Морихея Уешибы такого исполнения! Кто видел , дайте на такое исполнение ссылку.
how much fluency 👏👏👏
The deshi aikidoka are pretty rude...
Why ? What they did ?
at the very beginning of the video Sensei's arm is rigid at the elbow and shoulder, that's why the student couldn't do the technique, that's the only reason! Student's move was actually right and the fact that his arm and shoulder weren't relaxed DOESN'T matter at all. Sensei just didn't let him do his technique. AIKIDO IS NOT APPLICABLE without atemi and when uke knows what technique is going to be performed. 99% of Aikido teachers are fake and do not know anything about what they are teaching. Aikido is almost always misunderstood and learned very inappropriately.
Vanni Giulio Aikido will not work without having a good base in other grappling art like Judo, Wrestling, BJJ and etc.
Aikido is not made for fighting (it's Budo, not Bujutsu) and that's the main point, then what you said is basically right but, you know, there is no point in trying to make Aikido work in a ring because it is just not made for it.
Vanni Giulio That is true. That is also why we do not have to call Aikido as a Martial Art or Self Defense system.
That's the origin of all misunderstanding, the word "martial art", in western countries we call everything "martial art" while in Japan, for example, there are at least 4 different ways to call what we call "martial arts". Budo is not for fighting, Budo is a philosophy of life, a spiritual way. Bujutsu are the ancient/classical fighting sistems, Kakutogi are the sports like Bjj or MMA and Goshinjutsu is the self defense... it's ridiculous to ear of people that would like to use a Budo in a ring. They all use almost the same techniques but practiced in a completely different way since the goal is different. That's all.
Vanni Giulio Aikido is not a martial art nor a self defense. Its a budo. A way of life. Most of the sensei out there has been teaching to the west that Aikido is a self defense system. They gave a false understanding bout Aikido.
Can somebody explain me why the uke's arm remains inactive while nague moves two steps? That kind of things make people distrust Aikido. (I hold IAF 5TH Dan)
You would hardly get any answer until someone holding at least a 6TH Dan come here too
After 4th Dan, promotions are not based on technical knowledge.
When you are teaching a technique step by step (like frame by frame in pictures) it is easy to pick out flaws and criticize. When done in one motion (normal speed) the uke would not have time to react because his momentum would take him off balance. My students (actually only certain students) will sometimes say the same thing when slowly demonstrating step by step. They are silent after they have received the technique at normal speed. Aikido is non-stop motion. It must flow freely. Therefore, it is difficult to demonstrate with stop-action. However, it is necessary to show proper footwork, positioning and motion. Hope this helps.
Just like in any other demonstration, the point is to demonstrate, not be in live resistance. Just like in Judo, the uke will usually blunder into giving you the opportunity to do this to them. Ueshiba, mind you, was never shy about striking to disrupt the opponent. Kano, mind you, was never shy about breaking someone down to make the throw easier.
bc nage has a knife or a sword
Feel free adding subtitles. Thanks!
